This week I discovered…

… I admire the way Jesus kept His eye on the prize — pleasing His Father, facing each day, every encounter steadily, showing no boredom — with intention, patiently awaiting the final point.

Then two ideas came to my mind…

“A quick answer relieves immediate needs, but patient listening, a deeper relationship.”

“Sometimes, embracing the middle is like plowing a field after years lying fallow, but the end yields is Life.”

So, I explored what others had to say …

“The moment you wake up each morning, all your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists in shoving it all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other, larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in.”

—CS Lewis

“When you listen and read one thinker, you become a clone…

… two or three hundred thinkers, you become wise and develop your voice.”

—Tim Keller

And now I have a question for you …

Where would you like to slow down and pay attention to the process?

Until next week,
